Sunnyside Park is located in the heart of South Surrey and well known for its many athletic parks and facilities. Residences in the area include single family homes, condos, townhouses, and senior residential homes. Some of South Surrey’s most prestigious communities are Sunnyside Park, including Meridian by the Sea and Semiahmoo Wynd.
SCHOOLS
H.T Thrift Elementary is in the South Eastern corner of Sunnyside, next to Semiahmoo Secondary School and backing onto the South Surrey Athletic Park. In the Southwestern corner is Bayridge Elementary. If private schools are more of preference, Southridge Private School and White Rock Christian Academy offer education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Also, for the youngest students, the prestigious Core Education & Fine Arts (CEFA) provides Baby Program and Junior Kindergarten options.
RECREATION
The main attraction in the Sunnyside Area is the South Surrey Athletic Park. The Athletic Park is home to a number of facilities: Soft Ball City, which has hosted many local tournaments as well as the Canadian Open Fast Pitch International Championship; South Surrey Bike Park; South Surrey Recreation Centre; and South Surrey Arena. There is also a new rugby field house under construction in the park. Adjacent to the park is the Sunnyside Acres Urban Forest. To the South of the park and beside H.T. Thrift Elementary is South Surrey Indoor Pool.
SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
Sunnyside, being in the middle of South Surrey, is within a short distance to most shopping centers. Within this sub area of South Surrey, you will find: Windsor Square and Semiahmoo Shopping Centre, providing a mix of local family owned shops and name brand stores; anyone can find what they are looking for.
