Crescent Beach is located just South of the mouth of the Nicomekl River with Ocean Park covering the area to the south on the peninsula. The area was once made up of small cottages in a quaint community. Throughout the years, the area has maintained its charm by consistently rejecting rezoning and modern development. Homes found in the area range from multi-million dollar estates to family developments. This family neighbourhood is a mixture of charming old, and newly constructed traditional single-family detached homes. Some multi-family strata complexes can also be found near Ocean Park Village.
SCHOOLS
There are several Elementary schools in the area; Crescent Park Elementary is found to the North, while Ocean Cliff Elementary is relatively central in location. Ray Shephard Elementary is also within a reasonable distance for a lot of homes in the area, located on the Eastern border of Ocean Park. Laronde Elementary offers a French immersion program and is fairly centrally located. For secondary schools, there is Elgin Park Secondary situated near the North Eastern corner of Ocean Park. If private schools are more of preference, Southridge Private School and White Rock Christian Academy offer education for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12. Also, for the youngest students, the prestigious Core Education & Fine Arts (CEFA)provides Baby Program and Junior Kindergarten options.
RECREATION
With the Western border of the area being entirely ocean front, much of the recreation in the area is centered around the beaches. Crescent Beach Swimming Club offers swimming, synchronized swimming, water polo, tennis, sailing, and other programs. In the middle of Crescent Beach is a community-based program facility, , Camp Alexandra. Additionally, Crescent Beach Marina is located at the mouth of the Nicomekl River, at the north tip of the peninsula. There are many parks and walking trails in Crescent Beach and Ocean Park such as Kwomais Point Park, 1001 Steps, and numerous others. The Ocean Park village also offers a community hall, Ocean Park Library, and a shopping mall.
SHOPPING AND RESTAURANTS
There is an array of small shops and cafes located in Ocean Park village as well as a large chain grocery store and small produce store. There is also a neighbourhood pub found just across the street. At Crescent Beach, you will also find a number of modest restaurants and boutiques.
